Emerging Financial Crime Threats for 2019

ACAMS lays out for what they believe are the most important threats facing us for the coming year.


We agree with this article though with new threats come new ideas. For example, yes electronic money laundering will become more complicated and smarter, but so will the solutions to fight it. For example, biometric verification will improve and become more prevalent. It's still early days yet for ID tech. We think the biggest threat involves cryptocurrencies as a means to deliver value across borders for any purpose -good or bad.
